Since long the idea of writing about
the Gem of Kashmir was hankering in my mind especially Maqdoom Sahib, Sheikh ul
Alam, Ahad Zargar, Rasool Mir and Lal-ded. When I tried to study about them,
Got material after going through some book I failed to write, I thought unless
and until a man has spiritual knowledge especially as least 25% he cannot write
and he should not…….this will be like beating the bushes. Our valley Kashmir is
known as Pirwor-land of Saint (Spiritual persons)(Garden of Saints). The Common
people are pure at heart, sincere, best friends, simple and helpful in General.
In Kalhans Raj Trangni we can see the role of kings is the development of
spiritual, mental and in other sides of Social life.
A great mystic of 14th
Century A.D Lalla(Lal-Ded),Lala-Aarfa was born in 1335 A.D in modern Pandrethan
than now in Srinagar and was married at Pampore. At the age of 25 she became
seeker of Truth. She renunciated in world. This renunciation was not sudden, but she was fully prepared
for it. Her Mother in law cruel treatment and her tolerance has little to do
with her Idea of renunciation.
It is believed that the 1st
person she came in contact after renunciation was Sidha Boya. He was an eminent
scholar of Sanskrit literature and an exponder of shiva Cultand also master of
Trika Philosophy.
The discussion with Sidha Boya was
held in presence of her husband. They were interested to Investigate and find

e.g. There is no light like eye
light, no pilgrimage like ones own legs, no friend like ones own pocket and no
joy like perfect health. Now Comes the turn of Lala. She said,

There
is no light like the spiritual drink.
2.
No
holy place like the knowledge of secret.
3.
No
friend like God and
4.
No
happiness like the fear of Evil.
She was deadly against Idol worship
and puranic ritualism. Once she made a dogmatic Braham to understand that Idol
worship as no means to realization of Nirvan or to attain the blis. She was
against animal sacrifice once while seeing a Pandit with a Ram to sacrifice the
animal before the Idol. She said to him,”Lazkasi, Sheet Nivari,Turnzel kare
ahar, batta Piya thratha wattstal morthan katha.” E.g.”The animal hides your
shameu, saves your from cold, eats only grass curse on you who killed the
animal under a stone.”
She made the Brahmans to understand
through the advocacy of monotheism and poer of reasoning. When syeds poured
into Kashmir from Hamadan and other towns of Iran. She met them hear them and
discussed about the principles of Islam. She had long interview and frequent
agreement with Syed Hussain Simnani.
She tried to assimilate fresh
truths.
Saying of Lallaare electric in
nature which contained the basic truths of both Trika and heretic Budhism.
LALLA IS ORIGINATOR FOUNDER AND 1ST
VOTARY OF NEW CREED:-THE RELIGIONS HUMANISM SHE PROVED A LINK BETWEEN THE
FADING PAST AND RISING FUTURE”- “HUMANISM”. THE PROGRESSIVE SECTIONS AMONG THE
HINDUS NAD MUSLIMS EAGERLY WELCOMED IT WITH OPEN ARMS.
Lalla roamed about within Kashmir in
semi nude form. She used to dance and sing where she went. Rich and poor,
handsome and ugly were alike to her . In youth her physical features were
attractive and refined manners.
Lal-ded is confirmed monotheist,
unshakeable believer is one god. She says god is universal law,all prevoding
force which beneficial for all .
According to Lalla the Core of
relrgio,consists in the equality of men and women , mhuman brotherhood and
unity of God and man . the theme of ther philosophy. Shiv Chue thali thali
Rozan, mozan hund ta musilman, Reliaze yourself (Paan Prezanav) do not discriminate
between Hindu and Muslim.
She stressed much on
self-realization,Purty of thought, purty in action, consistency in word and
deed, absence of greed ,awarice and egoism in genral and no attachment with low
interests are the essence of Lalla’s teachings.She belived in mental discipline
and control of mind.
Lalla’s sayng are known as
LalliVakh. In one of her Lalli vakh she say it is strange the jar of nectar is
with everyone, yet nobody cares to drink . she asked her followers to remain
stead fast devoted to
1.
Ideals
of love and
2.
Service
of humanity
3.
To
reavh the stage of illumination one should control his senses and take to the
right path.
This shows how much Kashmir was
advanced in spirituality and humanitarian laws . At present we have seen Ahad
Sahib of Sopore who was nude totally in cold temperature . when temperature was
-10dgree Centeigrade like Indian sadhus no care of there body . It is wonder
that Chelli cold and summer hot could not have any affect on his body and mind .
He was equally respected and loved
by all Kashmiris. Every saintly person of vally stressed much on self
realization. Guru Nanak Says “Mind you are Jot Saroop realiz your rout”.
Once Plato was coming back after
dinner from a friend and was accompanied by his servant, he saw a boy coming
with a burning light in his hand . Plato stopped him and asked him “where from
you gotthis light”? The boy blow it off and asked Plato “Tell me where it has gone
“?I will twl you where from it come ? Plato thanked him though the question was
different but plato thanked him saying you have solved my problem . “where from
nor”Light”came thereit has gone.”
Where from we have come we have to
go ?
I was at Delhi a few year back, met a Polish Citizen and he asked me do you
know any call “vakh “? I asked his what you have to do with call “vakh “?we
have modern mistic suffis ,I know a bit about there poetry like Ahad zargar Sahib
“ Faqiree tab ruste mehrab wuch mai”etc.From that day I searched and tried to
read Lal-ded.
“The ultimate end of all is god,He
is Manisfested in laws of nature, he is hidden spring! Shintris.
